Answer
Diagnosis
Keloid
Hyperplastic formation of cicatricial tissue.
Treatment
Initial treatment is Kenalog injection + cryotherapy. If there is no effect the tumour can be excised –however only as long as the treatment is followed by local compression therapy in the form of Keloid compression with specially designed ear clips, which are to be applied continuously through a minimum of one year.
Excision without subsequent compression implies great risk of deterioration and additional Keloid reformation!!
